1969 Antique Gold Pontiac Firebird
Below is a pic of the 1969 Pontiac Firebird that I purchased in July
'05. The car was in good condition when I bought it but I actually
bought it with the intent to transform it into a Pro-Touring or
G-machine car. I wanted a '69 that was in good structural condition,
had a solid body and decent mechanicals and this car fit the bill
well.
I have another Pontiac that I've been trying to restore for the past
3 years; a 1981 Trans Am Daytona Pace car. I haven't had time to
finish it so I wanted something that I could drive NOW so I bought
this Firebird. I found it on a national Pontiac forum from a guy in
Virginia. I contacted him via email, we worked out a price and I met
him halfway in Columbia, SC. to pick it up.
He has had it since '97. He repainted it and redid some of the
interior in '97. He also converted the front brakes to discs and
added power-assist. He had the majority of the paperwork from the
life of the car including the original protect-o-plate. I am
apparently the 4th owner of the car.
The original engine (350/2bbl/auto) was still in the car and ran
pretty good considering it has almost 130k miles on it. When I got
it, it was running rough but nothing that a complete tune up
couldn't fix. The car drives very tight (the guy I bought it from
had changed most of the suspension/steering components), has almost
no rattles, and the brakes feel very good.

The navigation bar to the left has each change listed as I did it.
