1995 Arctic White Pontiac Trans Am
Below is a pic of the new ride that I picked up for my wife. It's a 1995 Trans
Am with the LT1 350 engine and auto trans. I bought it from one of the guys in
our local car club.
The car only had 69,000 miles and it actually runs pretty good......now. The
engine had a little miss and a stumble in it when I first drove it. While in the
process of changing the water pump, I decided to go ahead and replace the
"Opti-spark" distributor cap and rotor since it is mounted behind the water
pump. As soon as I pulled off the cap, I knew where the miss was coming
from. This was probably the original cap and it was very corroded. By the way,
I never thought I would see the day that I would pay $160 for a distributor cap!!
I didn't want a cheap one since it's such a pain to change. I don't want to have
to do that again anytime soon. I've also discovered a pretty bad oil leak that
appears to be from the
rear seal, so I guess that will be the next repair.

The car has some mods done to it including Hooker ceramic headers,
flowmaster mufflers, an electric exhaust cutout, performance tune,
underdrive pulleys, Taylor wires, strut tower brace, and a couple of other little
things that I don't recall at the moment. The car has been dyno'ed at 273 rear
wheel horsepower. More than enough power for my wife. :-)
